Lo scavo, condotto in regime di concessione del Ministero dei Beni e della Attivit\u00e0 Culturali e del Turismo &#8211; Soprintendenza Archeologia Belle Arti e Paesaggio per le province di Brindisi Lecce e Taranto, vede coinvolte le Universit\u00e0 pugliesi del Salento (con la professoressa\u00a0<strong>Rita Auriemma<\/strong>, direttrice delle ricerche), di Foggia (con i professori Maria Turchiano e Danilo Leone) e di Bari (con il professor Giuliano Volpe).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Si tratta della prima collaborazione sistematica delle tre universit\u00e0 in questo settore, sviluppata grazie al progetto Interreg Italia-Croatia\u00a0<em>UnderwaterMuse\u00a0<\/em>che vede coinvolti anche il Dipartimento Turismo Economia della Cultura e Valorizzazione del Territorio della Regione Puglia, l\u2019Ente Regionale per il Patrimonio Culturale della Regione Autonoma del Friuli Venezia Giulia (<em>lead partner<\/em>), l\u2019Universit\u00e0 Ca\u2019 Foscari di Venezia, la Public Institution for Coordination and Development of Split &#8211; Dalmatia County RERA S.D. e il Comune di Kastela (Croazia).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-2 is-cropped\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"681\" src=\"https:\/\/arteeluoghi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/DSC06873-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"9067\" data-link=\"https:\/\/arteeluoghi.it\/?attachment_id=9067\" class=\"wp-image-9067\" srcset=\"https:\/\/arteeluoghi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/DSC06873-1024x681.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/arteeluoghi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/DSC06873-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/arteeluoghi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/DSC06873-768x511.jpg 768w, https:\/\/arteeluoghi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/DSC06873.jpg 1772w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/li><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"681\" src=\"https:\/\/arteeluoghi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/DSC06487-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"9066\" data-link=\"https:\/\/arteeluoghi.it\/?attachment_id=9066\" class=\"wp-image-9066\" srcset=\"https:\/\/arteeluoghi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/DSC06487-1024x681.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/arteeluoghi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/DSC06487-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/arteeluoghi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/DSC06487-768x511.jpg 768w, https:\/\/arteeluoghi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/DSC06487.jpg 1772w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Spiega la professoressa Auriemma, docente di Archeologia subacquea a UniSalento e direttrice delle ricerche: \u00abLe indagini in corso si sono concentrate in tre punti della baia, che consentono di ricostruire la lunga storia di questo importante approdo: il relitto della nave romana della fine del terzo &#8211; inizi del quarto secolo dopo Cristo, i resti di una galea veneziana (la Galea Magna che dai documenti risulta essere affondata nelle acque di Carovigno alla fine del XVI secolo), la sequenza di strati esito della sovrapposizione di carichi di navi naufragate contro le terribili scogliere di questa \u201cbaia trappola\u201d tra l\u2019et\u00e0 greca arcaica e l\u2019et\u00e0 romana tardoantica. Le indagini, svolte con il supporto tecnico dell\u2019associazione onlus ASSO \u2013 Archeologia Subacquea Speleologia Organizzazione di Roma, della ditta Colucci e di storici collaboratori come Fernando Zongolo, prevedono anche sia prospezioni geofisiche subacquee sia rilevamenti e modellazione 3D con voli da drone, laser scanner e altre tecniche innovative, grazie al Dipartimento di Architettura e Design del Politecnico di Torino.
